Beauty
is only a few beers away
by: Amanda Newman
In a survey done by Loyalist College journalism students,
it was revealed that 80
per cent of males and 83 per cent of females believe the 'beer goggle'
effect is real.
Researchers in Scotland found proof of the effect that makes members of
the
opposite sex 25 per cent more attractive to those who have consumed alcoholic
beverages.
"I don't get drunk. I rarely drink. I definitely believe it is true
though, I've seen it
with my friends and the guys or girls that they hit on," says 19-year-old
Loyalist College
student Katie Jolicoeur.
But she has never experienced a 'beer goggle' moment first hand.
"If a guy is attractive to me and not the next day, it was probably
the lighting."
Nineteen year-old early childhood education student Krystle Gallaugher
has a
different point of view on the effect.
"I agree and disagree with this theory. I agree because a lot of
the time I have
seen it done. When people are sober they think that person is really ugly
but when
they are drunk they don't care and they will take home anybody,"
says Gallaugher. more story...
